About Me
And why I do what I do
Losing my mum saved my life…
When it happened, I was 28, chronically stressed and desperately unhappy, though I hadn’t admitted to myself just how much; denial seemed to be my thing.
However, one of the last things my mum ever said to me changed everything,
“Always follow the butterflies”.
“Uhm…okay Mum, I will. Promise…” not having a clue what I’d just solemnly agreed to.
I discovered she meant always follow the signs, the good omens. And when you start looking, you realise how surrounded you are by them, and always have been…
So, I started following…and crucially, changing my life as a result.
Looking back, it is now obvious that I had started tuning into my intuition or inner guidance system.
Why crucially? Because the biggest sign I finally managed to see was that I was headed down the same path as her and if I didn't change course, I'd end up in the same place, much sooner than I wanted.
When you do this, you are beginning a process of letting go of things that do you no good and often a great deal of harm. The more you let go of this stuff, the more you get to know - and accept - the real you.
For me, this was both scary as hell and incredibly liberating … as the real me was someone I’d kept hidden - out of fear and a longing for acceptance - for as long as I could…
Taking this path really forced me to think about my life and how I wanted to spend it.
I knew I wasn’t happy in my job as a drum tutor; I was merely existing and making decisions based solely on what I thought I could or should do.
When I thought about what I was passionate about and good at, the answer became clear: helping people with their emotional issues.
A while into my counselling training, I learned about Mickel Therapy and how it could be an effective treatment for people with M.E./Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and Fibromyalgia.
This immediately grabbed my attention, and focused it away from counselling, the reason being that these conditions had played a huge part in my mum’s downfall…
As a teenager, I felt completely helpless, watching her bedridden and suffering.
What can you do when you are told there is no cure, no end in sight, when all the doctors can apparently do is prescribe medication to try and combat the symptoms, but to no avail?
My mum was a fighter and struggled on through minor ups, major downs and increasingly complex health issues for about another 15 years before she just… could fight no more.
I won’t lie – it was beyond heart-breaking to find out there was a way she could have recovered after all and - if she had - she would likely still be with us today.
When the chance to train in this therapy arose, I jumped at it. It was too late for my mum, but I could help others like her.
I was going to change lives; I had found my purpose.
I left Mickel and, combining some of the most effective therapy and coaching techniques to exist, created my own unique and highly effective approach to alleviate fatigue, pain and anxiety, and to promote energy and wellbeing.
To do this, you need to get right to the root cause of the issue and eliminate it.
The cause is the (often unconscious) suppression of emotions, which leads to a build-up of stress and other symptoms.
But despite there being an enormous amount of knowledge about the connection between stress and physical health, there is a real lack of focus on using this cause-and-effect knowledge to help people to heal.
We are beginning to hear more about it from alternative/holistic health professionals, usually things like:
“practise self-care, love yourself more, use meditation and mindfulness, have healthy boundaries and a good work-life balance…"
Now, I don’t know about you but for me, these are just words and phrases that are bandied about a lot but mean very little in themselves.
If you are anything like me you need examples, you need things to be explained, you need to be shown.
You need a starting point to learn HOW to do any of this.
Through my years of self-development work and experience in my practice, I have been able to bring together, yet simplify everything of value to create an easier and altogether more manageable process to help my clients.

What it comes down to is this:
Learning how to tune into your emotions and use them as a guidance system to make decisions to create and live a life of deliberate choice is everything.
NOT doing this is making you ill and/or miserable and stressed. And life is too short for that.
My mum taught me that and saved my life.…
